 Kosciusko, selected as one of the top one hundred small towns in America, has a population of about 7,000, and is located on the historic Natchez Trace Parkway. It is strategically located in the geographic center of the State of Mississippi. It's a city where you can know your neighbor's name and they will know yours, where the air is clean, and where children can grow up with a free and natural spirit. Yes, it's a city in the country, but a city, nevertheless.
Kosciusko and Attala County began as a campsite for those journeying from Natchez to Nashville and was known as Red Bud Springs. Attala County was formed in 1833 and was named after a legendary Indian Princess.
 Kosciusko is the only municipality in the United States named for Thaddeus Kosciusko, a Polish hero of the United States Revolutionary War. He was the first foreign officer to receive a commission from the Continental Congress to serve in George Washington's Army.
Kosciusko has much to offer - pleasant shopping, excellent schools, modern residential areas, a very low crime rate, and a location that offers access to cultural and recreational advantages of the larger metropolitan areas.
